GCA YOUR SHIPPING SOLUTION!
Almost every item produced around the world needs to be transported to its final destination to be used or sold; that is why, GCA offers a wide array of services including the shipping of parcels to full containers and project cargo, logistics, distribution, and brokerage all over the world.
Global Cargo Alliance Corp. was founded in 2001 when young entrepreneurs experienced the need to connect Miami to the entire world. The business started as a courier company, shipping packages from Miami to Latin America. As the business grew, the customers’ needs became more and more demanding; contributing to what GCA has now evolved to.
GCA currently offers shipping solutions to customers all over the world; relying on a professional network of agents that represent GCA in the 5 continents.
In order to achieve greater expansion, by 2003, GCA became a NVOCC (Non Vessel Operating Common Carrier) regulated by the FMC (Federal Maritime Commission). This license allowed for direct negotiation with ocean shipping carriers, achieving preferred rates, services and multiple destinations for GCA. With this license and all of our available services, GCA can be used as a one stop shop that understands the customer’s shipping needs, providing solutions and making the shipping experience for its customers as easy and smooth as it should be.
In 2007, and thanks to the company’s continuous growth, GCA relocated to a 45.000 Sq. Ft. CFS (Container Freight Station) fully bonded warehouse, expanding its capacity to receive, store and handle your shipments no matter their size or contents. We invite you to give us a call, request a quote and become part of the shipping solution!

New eco-friendly containers for CMA CGM
CMA CGM was the first shipping group to purchase containers with bamboo floors called bamboo eco-containers, as part of its commitment to environmental protection.
In 2005, the eco-container fleet totaled 400 TEUs. One year later, as a result of positive customer response and the strong technical performance of these containers, CMA CGM increased its fleet to 7,000 TEUs. The Group now has the pleasure to confirm the delivery of 30,000 additional TEUs, increasing its fleet to 37,000 TEUs.
“Expanding our eco-container fleet has a dual objective. First, we want to make use of modern eco-design ideas and limit the use of tropical wood because this resource is disappearing. We also want to improve the technical performance of our own containers to ensure that we provide customers with the service they expect,” declares Alexis Michel, senior VP of Container Logistics and a member of the company’s Environment Committee.
These efforts are all part of CMA CGM’s policy to protect the environment and already allowed to save almost 10,000 m3 of tropical wood.

Price Trends
Pricing Across the Transportation Modes
Trucking Ó
Local trucking companies cut prices 0.2% from June to July and reported a 1.1% price drop in ancillary services. Those cuts dominated the industry's price trends. The Bureau of Labor Statistic's index for all trucking services increased only 0.1% even as long-distance LTL rates increased 0.3% and TL prices grew 0.2% over the same June to July period. Annual price increases for local trucking were 6.6% in 2004 and 6.1% in 2005. Even with housing market jitters, the trend remains steady. Local truckers nationwide have raised average tags from year-ago levels by between 3.3% and 3.9% for five quarters in a row. In contrast, year-ago LTL prices have decelerated from 7.1% to 2.5% and TL from 3.9% to 1.9%. Read More http://www.logisticsmgmt.com/article/CA6477623.html?
